As a small non-profit, New Directions relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations — with 100% of donations used to support of our mission of serving victims of domestic, intimate partner, and sexual violence while promoting safe, respectful, and loving relationships in our community. Donations can be made by check or through PayPal.

Donations of items for our shelter are appreciated. To best meet the needs of our residents, please consider these commonly needed items:
Please note that due to health and safety considerations, New Directions does not accept these used items: clothes, bedding, and toys with fabric (for example, stuffed animals). Also, because New Directions is a small shelter with limited storage space, the following new items are limited in quantity: clothing, bedding (including blankets), and personal care items. All donations not accepted by New Directions are referred to Interchurch or other similar organizations.
The Prevention Education Committee is a diverse group of Knox County community members dedicated to promoting sexual assault prevention programming in our schools and community. This committee meets every other month to help the Prevention Coordinator and Outreach & Grants Coordinator to implement an action plan to increase the reach of New Directions programs.
"Every month I donate to New Directions because I think it is the right thing to do. I have been involved with the work of New Directions, as a volunteer or board member, since it began over 30 years ago. ...I am very proud to have been a part of New Directions over the years. I am committed to donate money on a monthly basis to help provide support for all that they do."

"New Directions is making a strong stand against domestic violence in our community, and working hard to bring knowledge to all so that we can end hurt while bringing peace to each other . . . Contributing to New Directions has been more meaningful to both of us than words can express, and even the smallest contribution can help change a life forever."
